Today lets know some fun facts about INDIA, but before that, lets know something aoubt it. India is vast country. It is the seventh-largest country by area, the second-most populous country (with over 1.21 billion people), and the most populous democracy in the world. It is bounded by the Indian Ocean on the south, the Arabian Sea on the southwest, and the Bay of Bengal on the southeast.

3. India never invaded any country in her last 1000 years of history.
4. India invented the number system. Zero was invented by Aryabhatta.
5. When many cultures were only nomadic forest dwellers over 5000 years ago, Indians established Harappan culture in Sindhu Valley (Indus Valley Civilization)
6. There are 300,000 active mosques in India , more than in any other country, including the Muslim world
7. Sanskrit is the mother of all the European Languages . Sanskrit is the most suitable language for computer software - a report in Forbes magzine July 1987.
8. Chess (Shataranja or AshtaPada) was invented in India.
9. It's illegal for foreigners to take Indian currency (rupees) out of India.
10. 70% of all the world's spices come from India.
11. Indian housewives hold 11% of the World's Gold. That is more than the reserves of the U.S., IMF, Switzerland and Germany put together.
12. During WW2, India produced the largest volunteer Army in world history: over 2.5 million men. At least 38 Indians received the Victoria Cross or the George Cross.
13. Gleevec, a cancer drug that costs US$70,000 in the U.S. per year, cost just US$2,500 in India because it can't be patented there.
14. In West Bengal, India, cows must have a Photo ID Card.
15. India is the only country other than US and Japan, to have built a super computer indeigenously.

22. The Baily Bridge is the highest bridge in the world. It is located in the Ladakh valley between the Dras and Suru rivers in the Himalayan mountains. It was built by the Indian Army in August 1982
23. Varanasi, also known as Benaras, was called "the Ancient City" when Lord Buddha visited it in 500 B.C., and is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world today.
24. Martial Arts were first created in India, and later spread to Asia by Buddhist missionaries.
25. The Vishnu Temple in the city of Tirupathi built in the 10th century, is the world's largest religious pilgrimage destination. Larger than either Rome or Mecca, an average of 30,000 visitors donate $6 million (US) to the temple everyday.
26. Yoga has its origins in India and has existed for over 5,000 years.
27. The world's biggest family lives together in India: a man with 39 wives and 94 children.
28. The people of North Sentinel Island, India, are among the last people to remain virtually untouched by modern civilization.
